Privacy, in plain words.
Short version: duck pages and stops are public, emails are not, and there are no ads, cookies or trackers. Updated November 6, 2026.
Public on purpose
Every duck has a public page: its name, number, photo and driver's license. Every stop logged on it is public too: the place, the date, the note, and the first name or nickname if you add one.
So keep stops general. A park, a port or a city is perfect. The site turns away phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses, and we take down anything too personal that slips through.
Kept private
A duck owner's email. Used only to tell them when their duck gets a new stop. Never shown on the site.
Waitlist emails. Used only to tell you when ducks and stickers go on sale, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Never sold or shared. The waitlist is for ages 13 and up.
Logging a stop needs no account and no email, so finders of any age can play.
What we don't do
No cookies, no ads, no tracking pixels, no analytics companies. To count how many times a duck's page is opened, and to slow down spam, our server keeps a scrambled code made from your internet address. It can't be turned back into the address, and it's never shown or shared.
The page's fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your internet address the way any website you visit does. Our server's standard logs are kept briefly to keep the site running.
